Thick Paper Issues - Lanier

We suggest that you use the bypass tray when copying on 80 lb cardstock, 110 lb cover, photo paper, labels, etc.

To temporarily change the paper type for the bypass tray:

Add paper to the bypass tray or press the bypass tray button on your screen.
Push the # key
Some copiers will give the option to select thick paper on the right of the screen under special paper.
Others will have an option to select the paper type at the bottom of the screen. From there you will have the option to select transparencies, thin paper, thick paper 1, thick paper 2 and thick paper 3. Select thick paper 2 unless you are using thick glossy paper, in which case you would select thick paper 3.
Also be sure to select the correct paper size.

If you are pinting from your computer, you will need to go into the printer properties. Select the paper tab. Choose the bypass tray and select the same paper type and size you selected on your copier.

To change the paper type for the bypass tray long term:

Push the User Tools/Counter button at the left of the screen
Select Sytem Settings on the screen
Select tray paper settings tab
Select Bypass Paper Size making sure to select the direction you want to set the paper in the tray, and then press OK
Push the Next button on the lower right of the screen
Select Bypass tray
Choose your paper type and thickness (cardstock and glossy photo paper will be thick paper 3)
Select Ok and exit out of the next two screens.

Don't forget if you are printing from the computer to go into your printer properties, select the paper tab, and choose the bypass tray and select the same paper type and size you selected on your copier.
